SHTools is a collection of SH scripts with a user-friendly menu that will help you quickly configure Linux systems based on Debian.
Just download a single file and run it.
Pick tasks from a simple terminal menu.
Built for Debian and its derivatives.
The script is downloaded directly from the GitHub repository — no installer required.
All tools live in a single file, shtools.sh. Download it from GitHub:
curl -fsSLO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PiotrNapierala/shtools/main/shtools.sh
or, if curl is not installed:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PiotrNapierala/shtools/main/shtools.sh
Run it:
sudo bash shtools.sh
SHTools needs root privileges. If started as a regular user, it restarts itself with sudo. On systems without sudo (e.g. a minimal Debian install), run it as root with su -.
Download and run in one line:
curl -fsSLO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PiotrNapierala/shtools/main/shtools.sh && sudo bash shtools.sh
